What are the requirements for membership?
Prospective members must have completed one semester as a full time student, have a minimum GPA of 2.9, and must have completed one or more courses in music. She must show interest for music and in the purposes of Sigma Alpha Iota.

History of SAI
Sigma Alpha Iota was founded on June 12, 1903 the University School of Music, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Currently, SAI's membership includes 225 active college chapters and 114 alumnae chapters, producing a total of 8,822 current members, and 130,619 members initiated since 1903.
Eastman's Sigma Theta chapter was founded on January 16, 1925. Sigma Theta was awarded the Chapter Achievement Award for the Eta A Province in 2002 and 2019. Sigma Theta's distinguished members include Dr. Paul Burgett, Roslyn Weisberg Cominsky, Bonita Boyd, Kristin Chenoweth, and Dr. William Weinert.
